HT Share Falls to 270 Kuna

Following movements in foreign markets, today the Crobex index of the Zagreb Stock Exchange also has a negative sign, thus breaking a 4-day positive streak, and so far it is the only one with a million kuna turnover in HT shares.

The Crobex index was down 0.44 percent at 12:00 PM, at 1,909 points. At the same time, Crobex10 weakened by 0.76 percent, to 1,006 points. Regular trading in shares exceeded 5 million kuna and is approximately at the same level as it was on Friday at this time. “Under the influence of movements in foreign markets, today Crobex also has a negative sign, but it still holds above the psychologically important threshold of 1,900 points,” says Danijela Sporiš, broker and investment advisor at the investment company Credos.

She notes that trading recently has mainly been related to transactions that are reshuffling the portfolios of large investors, while small investors are still absent from the market. A million kuna turnover by noon was achieved with HT shares, amounting to 2.5 million kuna. Meanwhile, its price weakened by 1.5 percent, to 270.3 kuna. Following is the share of INA, which achieved nearly 291,000 kuna in turnover, with its price also down 1.5 percent, amounting to 1,656 points. Turnover above 100,000 kuna was also achieved with the shares of Atlantska Plovidba, Petrokemija, and Adrisa. Meanwhile, the price of Atlantska Plovidba shares weakened by 0.7 percent, to 836.15 kuna, while the price of Petrokemija shares increased by 1.5 percent, to 143.9 kuna, and the regular shares of Adrisa by 2.45 percent, to 306 kuna.

On European exchanges, the most important indices are today in negative stagnation, due to profit-taking after nearly three weeks of positive trends. The German ZEW index of sentiment among analysts and institutional investors has somewhat discouraged investors, as it plunged in September to minus 4.3 points, down from 14 points in August. This marks a decline for the fifth consecutive month. Analysts had expected its slide to 10 points. New guidance for investors should be provided later in the day with data on retail sales in the United States. (H)
