Sušanj and Marušić Launch Companies Targeting Projects in the Region

Although the crisis in Croatia shows no signs of easing and there are no real reasons for optimism, two examples testify that even such times present opportunities for starting a business. Sven Marušić has left his position as the Chief Operating Officer of the Information and Business Systems Sector at HT, while Dario Sušanj is departing from Maksima komunikacija, a PR agency where he managed a number of important clients such as Microsoft, B.net, Algebra, etc.

Both are founding their own companies. Marušić is opening Infocumulus, a company that will focus on technology consulting aimed at integrating IT and telecommunications companies, while Sušanj is establishing a new agency, Kursor komunikacije. Their common denominator is regional ambition. – I have worked in corporations my entire life, but I am young enough to offer something in the market – says Marušić, who was previously a manager at Microsoft Croatia. Given that this is a very narrow niche, his clients will be regional telecoms and IT companies. Despite its name, Kursor komunikacije will not limit itself solely to technology companies. – Some previous examples in the market have shown that, from a business perspective, tying oneself to a specific industry is not a good move – says Sušanj. His first client will be B.net. He founded the company in partnership with one of the leading Slovenian PR agencies, MA Marketing, whose clients include Intel and Canon. Since MA Marketing has recently also become a co-owner of a PR agency in Serbia, the focus is on regional projects from the start. – It is not excluded that we will engage in other activities related to media and publishing, such as marketing and content creation, in addition to public relations – says Sušanj.
