The County State Attorney’s Office in Bjelovar has raised an indictment against the married couple Zdravko and Višnja Pevec for three criminal offenses – abuse of position and authority, abuse in economic business, and violation of the management of commercial and business records, reports hrt.hr.
The prosecution has requested an extension of the detention for the Pevecs, while it has withdrawn from the criminal prosecution of their former accountant, the third suspect Dragica Barišić. The judicial panel of the County Court in Bjelovar will make a decision on the cancellation or extension of detention on Thursday when Zdravko Pevec’s three-month detention expires, and for his wife Višnja the day after. In an extensive investigation, 12 witnesses have been questioned. Unofficially, Zdravko and Višnja Pevec are suspected of illegally extracting around 20 million kuna from their two companies, Pevec Bjelovar and Pevec transport. (www.hrt.hr)
