During her visit to Špancirfest in Varaždin, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor responded to Damir Kuštrak, the president of HUP, who claimed on Saturday that the Government is creating an anti-business climate.
– The Government listens to what entrepreneurs say, and we are the first to have succeeded in reducing non-tax levies, so-called parafiscal charges by 20 or 25 percent, from monument rent to water contributions. We need to work much harder to ensure that everyone does their part – said Prime Minister Kosor. The Prime Minister emphasized that employers have been unable to publish the names and titles of 19,000 economic entities that have no employees but generate more than 12 billion in debt, which she proposed to HUP as a recovery measure. She added that the Government has reduced non-tax levies and has done its part regarding the debts of public companies, so HEP no longer owes 1.8 billion kuna and electricity prices will not increase until the end of the year, concluding that it is also up to the employers’ association and the unions to do their part.
