ARKOD, a project worth 120 million kuna that establishes a database recording the actual use of agricultural land, which was scheduled for completion this year, will be delayed by one year.
It started in September 2008, although the decision was made back in 2006. The Ministry of Agriculture does not specify the reason for the delay. However, Zvonko Biljecki, the CEO of Geofot, the company that surveys and maps areas, emphasizes that the problem is competition. – The delay occurred solely due to the Osijek Geodetic Institute. They constantly complained to the State Commission for Control of Public Procurement, even though they never met the competition requirements and were generally twice as expensive as us – says Biljecki.
