For several years now, sneakers with wheels have been in fashion, allowing girls to roll to school. For this ‘ride’, they even need instructions as there is a special technique for holding their legs and body. Today’s first graders are increasingly resembling the former hero from the animated film of the same name, Sport Billy, as their school bags are full of ‘possibilities’ and accompanying aids.
The market is abundant with various school supplies and equipment featuring well-known characters such as the famous Dora the Explorer, beautiful Winx fairies for girls, and boy idols like Transformers or the indestructible Ben10. Although children do not concern themselves with product prices, very expensive items often catch their eye because manufacturers are well aware of what kids ‘fall for’, and little ones certainly know what is ‘in’ and what is ‘out’ in their fashion world, as well as what is worn to school and what is for extracurricular activities.
Thus, every parent will surely want the bag to be anatomically adapted to the spine. However, they should not overdo it with the accessories, as in that case, instead of spending 400 or 500 kuna, they will have to shell out 1,100. Psychologists claim that parents can please them with one more expensive trendy item, but the rest of the school equipment must be moderate in price, design, and function. Therefore, the recommendation to parents is that they should know where to draw the line and teach their child to understand how far they can ‘demand’. (Jelena Gotovac)
