Bosnia and Herzegovina increased both exports and imports from Croatia by just over four percent in the first seven months of this year, with Croatia being the country from which the most was imported into BiH, while simultaneously being, after Germany, the second most important export market for companies from BiH, according to data released on Wednesday by the Agency for Statistics of BiH.
According to this data, companies from BiH imported goods worth 562.5 million euros from Croatia from January to the end of July. During this period, Croatian companies exported the most fuels and lubricants to BiH, valued at 194 million euros, while the export of food and live animals reached a value of 104 million euros. Exports from BiH to Croatia during the same period amounted to 300 million euros. In the first seven months, Bosnian-Herzegovinian companies exported the most to Germany, where the export value reached 310 million euros, while imports from that country were slightly over 404 million euros. According to the Agency for Statistics, BiH exported goods worth slightly more than 2 billion euros in the first seven months of this year, while imports exceeded 3.8 billion euros, resulting in a foreign trade deficit of 1.8 billion euros, with import coverage by exports at 53.8 percent.
