The Karlovac diesel engine factory “Adriadiesel” and the Rostovskaya Nuclear Power Plant from Volgodonsk, Russia, have contracted to build and deliver three diesel generator sets with an output power of 6,600 kilowatts (kW) and a weight of approximately 80 tons, with the contract valued at ten million euros, as announced by Adriadiesel.
These are engines (Emergency Engines) named Adria 40 according to their own documentation for the demanding nuclear energy sector, serving as a pilot project that opens opportunities for similar projects in the future. The contract, valued at ten million euros, is the largest contract for Adriadiesel in the last 15 years and represents both a significant increase in revenue and a more secure business operation in conditions of recession and uncertainty regarding further operations with Croatian shipbuilding, the Karlovac company stated. The project is financed by the Russian Government agency "Ros Energo Atom," it is added in the announcement. (H)
