The embargo on wheat exports from Russia began to be implemented on Sunday, by order of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
The decision was made after it was determined that nearly a quarter of the harvest was destroyed by drought and fires, and it will last at least until the end of the year. According to information reported by the BBC, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture has stated that this year’s harvest will not meet even domestic demand.
