The Hvar hotel company Sunčani Hvar has been granted a loan of 7 million kuna by its majority owner Orco Group, ensuring the payment of employee salaries and the continuation of the company’s operational activities, it was reported today from Sunčani Hvar, which indicates that this does not mean the unblocking of the company’s accounts, which are still blocked.
The blocking of Sunčani Hvar’s accounts has been ongoing since the end of last week (Friday, July 30) due to, as explained, the forced collection of the remaining debt to the Tax Administration. Today, the company could not clarify when they expect the unblocking of the accounts, nor the amount of the debt to the Tax Administration, nor whether this debt is 12 million kuna as reported by some media. It was also not possible to ascertain how and with what means they will pay the debt.
The latest loan from Orco Group to Sunčani Hvar was approved based on yesterday’s letter in which the management of the company requested urgent financial assistance from its two largest shareholders, the Croatian Privatization Fund (HFP) and Orco Group, to settle the remaining debt to the Tax Administration. In today’s announcement from Sunčani Hvar, it is stated that Orco positively responded to this request by approving the mentioned loan, while the reaction of HFP is not mentioned.
