The Polytechnic of Rijeka is the first in Croatia to introduce a professional study of telematics, which will commence with the new academic year. Explaining that it is a sophisticated study representing an interdisciplinary technology covering the fields of telecommunications and computer science, automation and robotics, as well as radiocommunications, the dean of the Polytechnic, Prof. Dr. Dušan Rudić, states that prospective students showed great interest in the new study during the summer enrollment period, writes novilist.hr.
– “We decided on a small enrollment quota to ensure the quality of the study. We have already filled all 30 places in the regular study program, and there are about fifteen free enrollment places left for the autumn enrollment period. The study lasts three years, and upon completion, students earn 180 ECTS credits and the professional title of professional bachelor, or baccalaureus engineer of telematics,” says Prof. Dr. Rudić. Adding that the Polytechnic has equipped a laboratory for the needs of the new study, he emphasizes that this is a study that has its place in the labor market, explaining that telematics is a superordinate term for the integration of linguistic and graphic communication techniques and data processing techniques.
