The Competition Protection Agency (AZTN) has assessed the concentration of Atlantic Group and Droga Kolinska as permissible. This concentration is being carried out outside the territory of Croatia, but is subject to the Agency’s assessment due to the potential effects of its implementation on the Croatian market, as stated in the press release from yesterday’s meeting of the Competition Protection Council.
By acquiring Droga Kolinska, Atlantic Group is entering the markets of bottled water, coffee, pâtés, and spreads where it has not previously been present. This acquisition also increases its market share in the markets of non-alcoholic beverages and salty snacks, it is noted. Since the market shares in the bottled water and coffee markets are less than 5 percent, in the pâté and spread market between 5 and 10 percent, and in the non-alcoholic beverage and salty snack market between 10 and 15 percent, the Agency’s assessment is that the concentration in question will not have significant effects on market competition.
