All obligations of Jadrolinija towards seafarers arising from unused and unpaid hours of redistribution will be settled no later than June 2013, starting from 2011, it was concluded at today’s meeting held in Split between representatives of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, the Management of Jadrolinija, and the unions.
This is a continuation of the discussions held last week in Zagreb led by State Secretary for the Sea Mario Babić with representatives of the Croatian Seafarers’ Union, the Independent Union of Croatian Passenger Ship Seafarers-Split, the Workers’ Council, and the Management of Jadrolinija, as well as the Agency for Coastal Line Maritime Transport. According to data from the Management of Jadrolinija, at the end of May this year, it was determined that 957 seafarers have about 780 thousand unused hours from redistribution, amounting to 29 million kuna (or less than 1.5 monthly gross salaries in Jadrolinija). After several hours of discussion, in addition to the dynamics, the method of payment was also determined, of which each seafarer will receive written notification on their payslip, as stated in the announcement from the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.
