The registered unemployment rate for June this year in Croatia was 16.6 percent, announced today by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. This is a decrease of 0.6 percentage points compared to May when it was 17.2 percent.
June marks the third consecutive month in which a decline in the registered unemployment rate has been recorded on a monthly basis, given that the rate for April was 17.9 percent, and for March 18.4 percent, što was also the highest registered unemployment rate in just over four years. However, on an annual basis, a higher registered unemployment rate is still recorded, and the rate for this June is 2.6 percentage points higher than in June of last year when it was 14 percent. At the end of June this year, there were 285,840 unemployed registered with the Croatian Employment Service, što is 10,598 persons or 3.6 percent less than the previous month, and 38,693 persons or 15.7 percent more than in June 2009.
