According to the state, Agrokor has no debts, and we pay suppliers within 76 days – said Ivica Todorić at the ceremonial opening of the Konzum Academy – Center for Selection and Education.
– Borrowing is good because reforms will continue and a stable environment for the private sector will be created – said Todorić, adding that he believes illiquidity is not the dominant problem of the economy, but rather the lack of investments in activities that create new added value and stimulate employment. When it comes to illiquidity, he stated that it has been an important development problem over the past 20 years. He also mentioned that Croatian retail chains are at the very top of the European and global benchmark regarding payments, meaning that Croatian retail chains are on average 10 to 20 percent better than the European average.
– For example, all of Agrokor’s largest suppliers are regularly paid, although there are occasional issues with smaller companies whose goods do not turn over very quickly. In the new, modernly equipped and attractively designed Center, which spans 1,500 square meters, processes of selection and education for staff in Konzum’s stores and wholesale centers, warehouses, transport, and other parts of the business system will take place daily. All activities will occur in three modernly equipped classrooms, two computer lecture halls, a computer laboratory, and a hall, and within the Center, there is a fully equipped school Konzum store. The opening of this center was also attended by the renowned physicist and scientist Davor Pavuna, who believes that Agrokor is an exponential, not a linear company, and he gave a lecture on this topic to the senior management of the company.
