Surgut sues MOL, seeks inclusion in the share register

The Hungarian oil and gas group MOL announced that Russian Surgutneftegas, which holds a 20 percent stake in the group, has filed a lawsuit against it, seeking to be included in MOL’s share register.

"Surgutneftegas has initiated a lawsuit against MOL to annul the decision rejecting the request for the inclusion of that company in the share register," states MOL’s announcement published earlier this week on the Budapest Stock Exchange website. The Russian energy giant purchased a fifth of Hungary’s largest company by revenue from the Austrian OMV last year. MOL stated that it considers this Russian company a financial investor. The first hearing is scheduled for December 3, 2010. (H)
