A New Method of Fraud on Facebook Discovered

A new method of defrauding Facebook users who access this social network via mobile phones has been detected, marking the first attack on this social network that occurred from a ‘remote location’.

It involves a video application titled: ‘99% of people cannot watch this for more than 25 seconds’. By clicking on the link ‘Video Here’, which contains fraudulent instructions on how to start the video, users are redirected to a new page that automatically creates a "pop-up" window asking them to enter various personal information. Experts assume that fraudsters are attempting to charge $9.95 from the mobile accounts of deceived users through a specific remote website. (www.cert.hr)
