After the Cabin Crew Union (SKOZ) announced the start of a strike for Friday, July 9, the management of Croatia Airlines has delayed salary payments to employees.
With such pressure, they intend to sow discord among workers and force them to abandon the strike, which is expected to last until Tuesday, July 13, at 6 a.m., states the announcement from the Cabin Crew Union. They emphasize that they decided to strike after failed negotiations regarding the signing of a collective agreement. During negotiations with the management of Croatia Airlines, they claim to have agreed to a 5% salary reduction, additional reductions through shorter calculations of night work, and a reduction in transportation allowances. They also abandoned negotiations regarding the standard flight.
The announcement also states that since the announcement of the strike, the management of Croatia Airlines has been misleading the public by announcing a loss of $4 million during the four days of the strike. For comparison, they cite the inability to fly the entire fleet due to a cloud of volcanic ash over Europe, which caused the company a loss of €500,000. In SKOZ, they emphasize that during the strike, 20% of the total cabin crew will work, and with that many people and good organization, the management can ensure about 50% of flights for its customers.
