Gavrilović became one of the 20 Croatian companies to receive halal certification last week. The meat program was certified primarily for consumers in the Croatian and Bosnian markets.
Greta Gavrilović emphasized that the certification of the entire production took three months and was conducted by the Agency for Halal Quality Certification from Tuzla in cooperation with the Mufti of the Islamic Community in Croatia. According to the Agency, the prices of halal certificates range from two thousand to 40 thousand euros depending on the size of the company, the level of risk, and the food sector in which it operates. Based on all the mentioned criteria, the Croatian meat industry is in the highest price category, as are other producers such as Podravka from Koprivnica. (M. Č.)
