The HGK Office Opens in Moscow on Saturday

The Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) will open its office in Moscow on Saturday, June 19, and on this occasion, the exhibition ‘Be CROative’ will be set up. The day before, on Friday, June 18, the Croatian-Russian Business Forum will be held organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

According to HGK reports, the office in Moscow will be opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Jadranka Kosor. At the opening of the office, the exhibition ‘Be CROative’ will be set up, through which HGK promotes quality Croatian products (holders of the ‘Original Croatian’ and ‘Croatian Quality’ labels), Croatian artists, scientists, innovators, and inventions of Croats known worldwide, as well as Croatia as a country of innovative and creative people.

On the occasion of the office opening, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation is organizing the Croatian-Russian Business Forum, which will take place on Friday, June 18, where representatives of the two chambers will present opportunities for Croatian-Russian economic cooperation. The forum will feature a business delegation of 25 Croatian companies led by the president of HGK, Nadan Vidošević, and individual discussions between Croatian and Russian entrepreneurs will also be held, HGK emphasizes.

The HGK office in Moscow is being opened with the aim of providing comprehensive support to Croatian companies to facilitate their presence in the Russian market and activities aimed at promoting the Croatian economy in Russia, primarily due to the strong interest of Croatian entrepreneurs, as well as the assessment that the Russian market offers good opportunities for Croatian companies.

Additional reasons for opening the office include the specificity of the Russian market and the insufficient awareness of Croatian entrepreneurs, complicated regulations and business rules in the Russian market, and the fact that presence in the Russian market can be a “springboard” for some other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, primarily Belarus and Kazakhstan, HGK states, adding that the office will cooperate with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Moscow in carrying out its activities.
