At the Global BBR 2010 conference held last week in Washington, Arena Zagreb was declared Building of the Year, reports hrt.hr
In a competition of 104 buildings from around the world (bridges, various engineering structures, halls, etc.), Arena Zagreb was declared the winner in the absolute category, and the Grand spectacle award was received by Berislav Medić on behalf of UPI-2M and Želimir Bodiroga on behalf of BBR Adria. Arena Zagreb was designed and built in a record 17 months for the 2009 World Handball Championship. It has become a prominent symbol of the city of Zagreb and has received multiple awards.
