After 86 years, the Čakovec textile giant MTČ locks the door. A month ago, bankruptcy was declared, and the first detailed analyses by financial experts and the bankruptcy administrator, despite some hopes and ideas, have shown that there is no lifeline to cling to, writes hrt.hr.
The total debt of MTČ, which has not paid taxes and contributions for years, cannot yet be determined with certainty. The debts to employees alone amount to a staggering 24 million kuna. This marks the end of a textile magnate that has fed thousands of families in Međimurje for decades. The only remaining option is leasing. The tender has already been announced.
