While guesting on Radio 101, Ljubo Jurčić announced that he will resign from the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Podravka, reports tportal.hr. Jurčić stated this morning on Radio 101 that he will meet with Prime Minister Kosor in the coming days – ‘more with her as a shareholder than as the Prime Minister, and we will discuss the new situation’.
After the previous management of Podravka ended up in custody due to the Spice affair, economist Ljubo Jurčić took over as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at the invitation of Prime Minister Kosor. On Monday, a new-old management of Podravka was elected, led by HSS member Miroslav Vitković, as the Prime Minister yielded to her coalition partner Josip Friščić, and Ljubo Jurčić – whose task was to remove politics from Podravka – remained abstained during the voting, so his resignation was expected.
Jurčić stated this morning on Radio 101 that he will meet with Prime Minister Kosor in the coming days – ‘more with her as a shareholder than as the Prime Minister, and we will discuss the new situation’. When pressed by a journalist to say whether he would resign, Jurčić indirectly confirmed his departure: ‘I think a new supervisory board is needed for the new management. My proposal for the management, although it was not directed against anyone, was different,’ Jurčić stated.
When asked if he spoke with the Prime Minister before the Supervisory Board meeting on Monday, where the new management was elected, Jurčić said: ‘Yes, I spoke with the Prime Minister. She didn’t tell me anything particularly.’ When asked how he comments on the opinion of some SDP members that Prime Minister Kosor played him, Jurčić said: ‘I have much more life experience than most in the SDP.’ (www.tportal.hr)
