Joško Martinović has passed away in the Rebro hospital in Zagreb. A long-time journalist of HTV, editor of the show Globalno sijelo, he lost his battle with a serious illness.
The fact is that he had been ill for seven years. But since facts were always a bit different for Joško, it would be more accurate to say: he lived life to the fullest for all of his 47 years. Especially in these last few months. Everyone at Croatian Television knew him, and few did not love him. From his first journalistic steps in Zagrebačka panorama, through reports that were previously unimaginable in news programs, to his own projects, Joško Martinović always set new professional standards. Even his reports from the Homeland War had an incomparable authorial stamp. He was the first TV reporter to arrive in the newly liberated Knin in 1995. A recipient of several prestigious awards, he is likely best remembered for projects such as Žive istine, Zlatne ribice, and Globalno sijelo.
