The state has recently reduced its majority stake in Vjesnik d.d., and will now sell the remaining state share. At the same time, the Vjesnik newspaper and Hina could be merged with HRT, while the other two options for saving the newspaper are privatization or brand sale, or budget co-financing.
At one of the upcoming sessions of the Privatization Fund, there will be a tender for the sale of the state share of 64 percent of the core capital of Vjesnik d.d. Meanwhile, from a source close to the government, we learn that efforts are underway to find a solution to save the Vjesnik newspaper. The most likely option is integration into the public multimedia service system within HRT and Hina, while the other two are privatization or brand sale, or budget co-financing.
