The Minister of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship Đuro Popijač will participate in a round table in Belgrade on economic cooperation between Croatia and Serbia, aimed at strengthening economic relations and encouraging mutual investments between the two countries.
The welcoming address and introductory presentation will be delivered by Minister Popijač and the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development and Minister of Economy and Regional Development of the Republic of Serbia Mlađan Dinkić. Representatives of economic institutions and entrepreneurs will discuss past experiences as well as opportunities for the development of mutual economic cooperation. Serbia is a significant trade and economic partner for Croatia and one of the few countries with which Croatia achieves a surplus in trade exchange. Last year, according to DZS data, Croatian exports to Serbia amounted to 561.8 million US dollars, while imports were 281.5 million dollars. Serbia is also the second largest investment destination for Croatian investors, with Croatian entrepreneurs investing 518.9 million euros in Serbia, or 13 percent, out of a total of four billion euros in direct investments abroad from 1993 to 2009.
