The opening of the Croatian Tourist Board office in China is also planned soon, emphasized Minister of Tourism Damir Bajs during a meeting with Chinese journalists at yesterday’s promotion of Croatian tourism in Shanghai.
Today, the Ministry of Tourism reported that its representatives, together with representatives of the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ), the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA), and the Slovenian Tourist Board, are presenting the tourist offerings of Croatia and Slovenia in China this week. The promotion in China is just the beginning of a large project that we did not want to leave to chance, said Minister Bajs to Chinese journalists, highlighting that the seriousness towards the Chinese market is confirmed by the fact that Croatia has seasonally abolished visas for citizens of that country.
He also stated that there are several reasons why guests like Bill Gates and Tom Cruise regularly return for vacations in Croatia, including culture, music, the richness of eno and gastro offerings, and numerous natural beauties. As part of the promotion in Shanghai, a business workshop was held where Croatian and Slovenian tourism experts presented the offerings of the two countries to Chinese tour operators, and in the evening, a “Croatian Night” was held. Minister Bajs and other Croatian representatives will visit the World Expo in Shanghai today, and then Beijing, where another promotion of Croatian and Slovenian tourism will take place tomorrow, May 27, as announced by the Ministry of Tourism.
