The average monthly net salary per employee in legal entities in Croatia for March this year amounted to 5,359 kuna, which is nominally higher by 3.9 percent, or by 202 kuna compared to the net salary for February, according to initial data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
The DZS states that the main reason for the increase in net salaries in March compared to February is the higher number of working hours in March, especially for those sectors where pay depends on the number of hours worked. In addition, bonuses and rewards for business performance were paid in March, as well as salary differences that also contributed to this increase, while the payment of the second part of the Christmas bonus to civil servants had almost no impact, note DZS analysts.
On an annual basis, compared to the net salary for March last year, which was 5,367 kuna, the average net salary for the third month of this year was lower by eight kuna, or nominally by 0.15 percent. According to initial data from the DZS, the average monthly gross salary per employee in legal entities of the Republic of Croatia for March 2010 was 7,831 kuna. Compared to the previous month, the average gross salary for March is higher by 374 kuna or nominally by five percent, while on an annual basis it is higher by 15 kuna, or by 0.19 percent. (H)
