After the most likely buyer of Kraljevica, Philip Zepter, announced more than a month ago that he does not plan to make a concrete offer for this shipyard Kraljevica even under the new, modified conditions of the second tender, alternative rescue solutions have been intensively sought in the oldest Croatian shipyard, writes novilist.hr.
The management’s general plan, led by director Irvin Badurin, has recently received the green light from the Ministry of Economy to proceed with its further development, Novi list learns. This week, a meeting of the main stakeholders will be held in Kraljevica, which the shipyard management relies on in its Plan B, after which their mutual relations should become clearer. However, the final word will be given by the owner, namely the Croatian Government. The management’s plan is for the existing Brodogradilište Kraljevica d.d. to go into bankruptcy, and for everything, including the workers, to be transferred to the current subsidiary of this shipyard, which has formally existed for about ten years. This means that the current name would change to Brodogradilište Kraljevica – Incotrade, in which the share capital or co-ownership would involve: Zepter, the largest contractor of the shipyard, and the local company Dalmont, workers who would remain working in the shipyard, and possibly the City of Kraljevica and, of course, the state. The size of these shares is still a matter of discussion. Roughly, an amount of 30 to 40 million euros is being considered, which should flow into this new company. It is assumed that state claims would be converted into ownership shares, and it is the state’s responsibility, at least as explained to us, to manage the existing surplus of workers through severance payments.
