Innovative Q-Box Technology Presented

An innovative system that enables high energy efficiency and reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere through the recovery of waste heat from flue gases was presented today at a press conference in Zagreb.

The development of this technology is credited to Q Power, a company owned by the Romanian RTC Holding, while its partner and representative for the Croatian market and neighboring countries is Q. Energija from Zagreb. The recovery system, or the return of waste heat that is daily released into the atmosphere from the combustion of fossil fuels, allows for significant savings in energy and fuel. In addition, this process ensures a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental pollutants such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur dioxide.

For the first time, the Q-Box technology allows for the useful application of waste heat from flue gases and its return in the form of heating water or air. This modern product has been recognized by the recently established Zagreb company Q.Energija, which also implements Q-Box systems on a turnkey basis in Croatia and the countries of the former Yugoslavia. The most common sectors for the application of this technology are heating plants and thermal power plants, the metal industry, the food industry, as well as the oil, glass, paper, and chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

‘Today, when the whole world is talking about the need for energy savings and a responsible approach to it, our product – the system for recovering waste heat from flue gases is more than welcome. I believe that the industry, as well as development support funds, will recognize the benefits of this technology. From our experience of installing over 120 Q-Box systems, we can confirm that this is an investment that typically allows for a return on investment in less than two years,’ said Domagoj Šarić, director of Q. Energija.
