The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg has ruled that air passengers can receive a maximum compensation of 1134.71 euros for lost luggage, even when that loss causes them emotional trauma, writes slobodnadalmacija.hr
The court interpreted that the limit in the Montreal Convention regarding lost luggage per passenger of 100 special drawing rights (now 1134 euros) encompasses both material and non-material štete. The ruling was made following an appeal by a passenger of the Spanish company Clickair, who sought compensation of 2700 euros for lost luggage as financial compensation and an additional 500 euros for psychological štete.
