USKOK has raised an indictment before the County Court in Zagreb against former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Damir Polančec for committing criminal offenses of illegal mediation and forgery of an official document, reports hrt.hr.
Due to abuse of position and authority and forgery of an official document, indictments have also been raised against Croatian citizens Ž. D. (1966) and T. A. (1957). USKOK has published only the initials of the accused on its website, but it has been unofficially learned that they are Željko Dražić, the director of Zagreb-montaža, and Tomislav Andabak, the project manager of Sky Office in Zagreb. The indictment charges Dražić and Andabak with having, from May 2008 to January 2010, in Koprivnica and Zagreb, at Polančec’s request, obtained unlawful property benefits for the football club "Osvit" from Đelekovac.
Polančec, who is the third accused in this case, is charged with having, using the authority of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, arranged for the execution of works on the installation of floodlights, and then instructed the director of that company to issue the invoice to Dražić, who agreed with Andabak on issuing an invoice indicating that payment was made for electrical installation works that were never performed. Polančec is also accused of attempting to cover up the abuse by requesting in January of this year that the company that installed the floodlights create a new invoice and issue it to NK "Osvit". Polančec then personally transferred 235,000 kuna to the club’s account, while the club transferred 230,279 kuna to the company that installed the floodlights on January 12, 2010, USKOK claims.
