Although he has recently been mentioned as the most likely person to purchase and save Croatian shipyards, industrial investor Danko Končar reveals in an exclusive interview with Lider that he is abandoning the purchase and consolidation of Croatian shipyards.
– For now, I am definitely abandoning the shipyard. I have come to the conclusion that there is no willingness among entrepreneurs in Croatia to unite, even though there is economic rationale for it, nor to act in the common interest. Everyone is looking after their own business – he responds, explaining one of the main reasons for his withdrawal. Although he says that he currently does not find an investment in Croatia that he could cultivate with an appropriate profit, he finds an interesting area and space for potential investments in real estate and marinas. He also resolutely denied the story that he intended to engage former Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polančec as an advisor for his companies.
