The contract for the design, supply, and construction of the wastewater treatment plant for the City of Ogulin, worth 30.8 million kuna, was signed today in Karlovac.
It was signed by the director of Hrvatske vode Jadranko Husarić, the director of Water Supply and Sewerage Zdravko Paušić, the director of Hydro-Systemtechnik (technology supplier) from Menschede Peter Honsel, and the director of Hidroelektra-niskogradnje Rade Pilipović as the contractor. The signing was attended by the Minister of Regional Development, Forestry, and Water Management Božidar Pankretić.
Speaking about the 2.205 billion euros allocated for Croatia from EU cohesion and structural funds for 2012 and 2013, Minister Pankretić stated that based on already developed projects by Hrvatske vode worth 900 million euros, that portion of the money will certainly not remain unused. Discussing the same funding sources, Pankretić noted that regarding Karlovac County, its position within NUC 2, i.e., the central region without the city of Zagreb, grants it access to EU funds, considering that with its average budget of 68 percent of the ‘EU 27’ budget average, it has not yet reached the developmental level and threshold of 75 percent of the ‘EU 27’ budget average.
