Croatia Airlines estimates that due to disruptions in traffic caused by volcanic ash, it has so far incurred direct damage of approximately 2.5 million euros, according to information from Croatia Airlines.
This estimate is based on the number of 24,000 passengers that Croatia Airlines was supposed to transport on domestic and international flights from Friday, April 16, until today, which it could not do due to the suspension of flights. A partial normalization of traffic is underway in accordance with the current situation in the airspace over Europe and Croatia, says Croatia Airlines spokesperson Davor Janušić. In a statement from Croatia Airlines, a continuation of the partial normalization of the flight schedule is expected for tomorrow. After international flights from Zagreb to Vienna and Barcelona were performed for the first time today after a four-day interruption, flights to Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, and Zurich are also planned for tomorrow after several days of interruption.
