The traditional meeting of entrepreneurs “Entrepreneurs’ Day 2010” organized by the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP) will be held on May 4th in Zagreb under the title “Crisis and Corporate Social Responsibility”.
The conference will address, among other things, the importance of corporate social responsibility in the development of our companies and Croatian society as a whole, announced HUP. In this way, entrepreneurs aim to encourage the development of awareness as well as a supportive legislative framework that will ensure sustainable development of companies and Croatian society through the joint and responsible participation of all social partners, as stated in the announcement. HUP emphasizes that transparent legislation will enable solutions to the problems of the gray economy and the lack of transparency in public procurement, and that the same legislative framework must allow for the alleviation of the economy and create space for sustainable development. Investment by Croatian entrepreneurs in the future, as such is socially responsible behavior, will create new market opportunities, thereby leading to economic growth, efficiency, and market value of Croatian companies. On these topics, the presidents of management boards, or directors of Croatian companies, members of HUP, recognized as examples of good practice in the application of the concept of corporate social responsibility, will speak at Entrepreneurs’ Day, HUP announced.
