At the third real estate auction held in Zagreb, out of 54 properties offered from across Croatia, both residential and non-residential, two were sold: a plot of land in Varaždin for a buyer’s bid of 20,000 euros, and shortly after the auction, an apartment in Zagreb for a ‘late offer’ from a buyer of 120,000 euros, reports the portal slobodnadalmacija.hr.
According to Tomislav Mužević from the Zagreb company “Real Estate Auction”, the organizer of auctions in Croatia, several apartments in Zagreb, which are of the greatest interest to buyers, as well as apartments valued up to 100,000 euros, received bids from buyers at the auction. However, since these bids were lower than the minimum price set by their owners, they were not realized.
– We are aware of the difficult state of the real estate market, as well as the general economic situation, therefore our primary goal is for real estate auctions to become the right place where only realistic property prices are achieved. The held real estate auction once again proves that property prices in Croatia, even now during a crisis and recession, are still too high, and that sellers have unrealistic expectations. It is precisely at auctions that buyers purchase properties at prices they are willing to pay, while sellers have the opportunity to receive concrete offers for their properties from multiple buyers, and to find out how much money they can actually get for them – commented Mužević on the results and expectations of participants in the Zagreb auction.
