Zvijezda achieved a profit of 31.12 million kuna

The company Zvijezda, part of the Agrokor group, achieved a profit of 31.12 million kuna last year, according to the company’s financial report published on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.

The company’s total revenues amounted to 940.2 million kuna, a decrease of 5.4 percent compared to the previous year. Revenues from sales, which constitute the majority of total revenues, amount to 911.3 million kuna and have decreased by 7 percent due to lower selling prices of oil. On the domestic market, 83 percent of sales revenue was achieved, while 17 percent came from exports. The main export markets are Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia. Last year, Zvijezda reduced total expenses by 8.3 percent, to 900.3 million kuna. The decline in total expenses is primarily due to falling prices of raw oils and tropical oilseeds. In 2009, 29.89 million kuna was invested, and new investments in production enabled an increase in production capacities, the introduction of new products, higher quality, and control of the production process. The most significant investments were in the construction of oil and raw material warehouses and the modernization of the refinery, which increased production capacity and reduced costs. (H)
