Expensive watches have been replaced by cheap brooches, but in legislation, nothing new. The current Government is hastily introducing as many misguided laws as possible that will then need to be ‘dekosorized’. The Law on Golf Courses and the Law on Tourist Land are clear examples of regulations that must be ‘desanaderized’ (radically changed or abolished) after Ivo Sanader’s resignation.
Sanader attempted to introduce the right of a larger private owner to seize the property of a smaller, also private owner for the purpose of consolidating his private estate through the golf law into the Croatian legal system. Until the proposal of the golf law, only the ‘state’ could seize property from a private owner against his will based on the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction exclusively according to the provisions on urban consolidation. The abolition or correction of bad laws after Prime Minister Sanader’s departure has been referred to by some as ‘desanaderization’. However, the first proposals of laws from the new Government of Prime Minister Kosor have hinted that the washing of bad laws could soon be called ‘dekosorization’, similar to ‘desanaderization’.
