Although approximately four months have passed since the launch of the new Microsoft operating system Windows 7, it seems that it is not easy to be a model user and strive for a legal version.
For the new system, Microsoft has decided to step into the future and offer the purchase of the system via online download, but only for the areas of the USA and the European Union, while users in Croatia, for example, are directed to stores where the price is incomparably higher. Microsoft Croatia explains that online sales are a pilot project limited to the USA and Britain, but since Britain is a member of the EU, the product is available to all member states. Unfortunately, although Croatia is included among the countries to which a version tailored to the Commission’s requirements is delivered, online purchase is not possible. The unavailability of Windows to the rest of the world via the internet has been explained by differences in regulations, taxes, customs, etc., but this still does not explain why this is not a problem for EU member states, yet it is for Croatia, which is largely aligned with the Union. Everything can be purchased online, from a needle to a locomotive, regardless of location, but not the Windows system. (V. F.)
