Exclusively for Večernji list, Željko Žderić, director of Konstruktor, speaks about the job of the century for the first time after the Montenegrin government decided to terminate negotiations with the Croatian consortium, claiming that nothing is lost.
After the Council for Highway Construction, and subsequently the Montenegrin government, terminated the concession agreement with Konstruktor, IGH, and Tehnika, Žderić answers for the first time questions about why the Montenegrin government did this, what happened with the bank guarantees of Croatian companies… and claims that the consortium will still build the Bar – Boljare highway. He states that the consortium has collaborated excellently with the Montenegrin Ministry of Transport.
When asked why the consortium lost the job of building the Bar – Boljare highway in Montenegro, Žderić says that the main problem of this project is the differing views of the Montenegrin government and the investment bank from Europe on the order of execution of individual sections of the highway. For its reasons, the Montenegrin government insists, as it did in the tender, that the most difficult section from Podgorica to the north should be built first, while the bank insists that for traffic-economic reasons, the section from Bar to Podgorica should be built first. ‘So far, no compromise has been found.
