Signum Group new owner of Rijeka City Center

The Rijeka City Center, covering 2,000 square meters and more commonly known as the Varteks Department Store, has reportedly been sold to an unknown Rijeka company, Signum Group, for 8 million euros, according to the portal novilist.hr.

The information about the new owner of the department store at Kobler Square was obtained by Novi list from several independent but well-informed sources, but there is currently no official confirmation from either the management of Varteks or Signum Group. This is a previously unknown Rijeka company, registered in 2008 with a share capital of 20,000 kuna, and according to the data from the Court Register of Commercial Companies in the Republic of Croatia, the sole founder of the company is Alen Cutvarić, who is also the only member of the Management Board. The struggling textile company Varteks was blocked last year by Zagrebačka banka due to irregular servicing of credit obligations, and it is reportedly ZABA that checked the creditworthiness of the new owner of the retail location in Rijeka.
