Libya will impose an embargo on economic and trade cooperation with Switzerland, stated a government spokesman in Tripoli. Among other things, medical equipment will henceforth be purchased from other countries.
Relations between the two countries have deteriorated since the brief arrest of Libyan leader Gaddafi’s son in Geneva in 2008. Last week, Gaddafi even called for a holy war against Switzerland due to a referendum in which Switzerland decided against the construction of minarets in the country. (Deutsche Welle)
