After the Pevec shopping center in Bjelovar opened last week, three more retail spaces of this bankrupt retail chain will open their doors to customers. Specifically, sales centers in Jankomir, Pula, and Zadar will open on Friday.
The total planned number of employees in these three centers is around 250 workers. According to a statement sent from Pevec, an agreement has been reached with almost all suppliers, so the mentioned centers will offer a large number of items from about 20 programs on Friday. During the opening of the center in Jankomir, the bankruptcy administrator, Darko Šket, will present the strategy for the company’s further operations to the public. In addition to continuing business cooperation with suppliers and preserving jobs, the strategy also includes reviving neglected Croatian programs, such as the furniture and wooden products segment through the CRO SHOP program, the house of Croatian furniture. The main idea of this project is to gather products from Croatian suppliers, such as Spin Valis, Međimurjepleta, AG Dinasa, Mundus, Tvina, and others, in one place within Pevec centers. (A. K.)
