The average monthly net wage per hour paid for December 2009 in legal entities in Croatia amounted to 29.33 kuna, which is a decrease of 5.7 percent compared to November, and a decrease of 0.5 percent compared to December 2008, according to data published by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
According to DZS data, there were 180 paid working hours in December, which is 8.4 percent more compared to November. The highest number of paid hours was in water transport – 215, and the lowest in education – 170. The highest average net hourly wage for December was paid in management activities; consulting related to management, amounting to 67.59 kuna. Following were air transport with 51.81 kuna and advertising (advertisement and propaganda) with 48.71 kuna. The lowest average monthly net wage per hour paid to employees in December was in leather processing – 15.07 kuna.
In clothing manufacturing, the average net hourly wage in December was 15.69 kuna, and in protective and investigative activities 17.21 kuna. The average monthly gross wage per hour in legal entities for December 2009 was 42.39 kuna, which is 5.2 percent lower than in November and 0.7 percent less compared to December 2008. According to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, the average monthly net wage per hour from January to December of last year was 30.39 kuna, and the gross wage per hour was 43.91 kuna. (H)
