Whenever a state-owned company is touched, some scandal is revealed. Following the Buljubašić case, an extraordinary audit at HEP revealed that the former management led by Ivan Mravak manipulated citizens’ money.
The fee for renewable sources that we all pay every month on our electricity bill was not forwarded to the agency Croatian operator market energy d.o.o. (HROTE). The debt has grown to nearly 200 million kuna. What the money was spent on is only a matter of speculation. Recently, HEP expressed a desire to increase electricity prices by at least 17%. Will we again be paying for someone’s mistakes and poor management through price increases? We can only hope that the government will not allow such a thing. (www.hrt.hr)
