Today, the first Croatian ecological brand Ekozona was introduced at Super Konzum. This is a joint project of Biovega and Konzum, and the entire assortment will be available at a total of 30 Konzum sales locations across Croatia.
With the introduction of the Ekozona assortment, Konzum has become the first non-specialized retail chain in Croatia with a specially positioned and separated category of ecologically certified products. ‘People increasingly want to eat healthily, and more and more customers are becoming aware of the importance of consuming ecologically produced food. At the same time, the recognizable positioning of this assortment within the sales locations contributes to additional education and availability of these products to numerous customers,’ said Darko Knez, CEO of Konzum. The Ekozona assortment includes a total of 108 products from 14 different assortment categories, with attention paid to selecting categories where it is easiest to replace products with ecological ones.
‘I am truly proud that people have finally recognized the importance and quality of ecological products. This collaboration shows that we have been recognized in the market with fifteen years of experience, and we are extremely pleased that our products, which have ecological certification, have become available to numerous customers,’ emphasized Jadranka Boban Pejić, director of Biovega, joking that at the beginning of the collaboration, Konzum was called Goliath, and Biovega David, who instead of fighting this time decides to bury the hatchet and start a collaboration that marks a new future for shopping. Ekozona products do not contain GMOs, are completely natural, free of additives, pesticides, and added sugar. The packaging itself, in addition to the product name, contains basic information and recipes for preparing the ingredients. (D. Š.)
