On the occasion of the inauguration of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Ivo Josipović, on February 17 and 18, 2010, a temporary traffic regulation will be established, as stated on the website of the Zagreb Police Department.
The prohibition of stopping and parking for all vehicles is valid from February 17 at 6 PM until February 18 at 5 PM in all streets and squares in the Upper Town area (from Ilirski trg to Mesnička ulica) and in Mesnička ulica. From February 17 at 5 PM until February 18 at 5 PM in Pierottijeva and I. Kršnjavoga Street from Kačićeva to Savska.
The traffic ban for all vehicles except for accredited vehicles is valid in Pierottijeva Street from February 17 at 5 PM until February 18 at 5 PM, in all streets and squares in the Upper Town area, Mesnička and Strelačka Street on February 18 from 7 AM to 5 PM, except for vehicles with a parking reservation in the Tuškanac garage, in Tuškanac Street from Nazorova to Streljačka on February 18 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
During the passage of the convoy of vehicles with protected persons and high-ranking guests from other countries, there will be occasional and short-term traffic stoppages on the route Zagreb Airport – city center. The arrival of citizens to St. Mark’s Square, as well as residents from the Upper Town area, is planned exclusively on foot via Strossmayer’s promenade or Radićeva Street through Kamenita vrata.
In accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Gatherings, the police will conduct checks of all persons coming to the Upper Town. Accordingly, the police request that citizens do not come under the influence of narcotic substances and that they do not carry items or means suitable for causing injuries or disturbing public order and peace, in order to avoid possible inconveniences, as stated in the PUZ announcement.
