Sold Out Packages for Valentine’s Day and Carnivals

Croatian travel agencies are recording relatively good sales of packages for carnival programs and Valentine’s Day, with some already having sold out what they had for the upcoming weekend. In addition to domestic seaside destinations such as Opatija and Rijeka, traditionally romantic cities like Rome, Venice, Verona, and Paris have also been in high demand.

Highlighting that this year’s offer of travel programs for Valentine’s Day is similar to last year’s, the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA) adds that, besides the mentioned destinations, city break (two and three-day) programs in European metropolises, as well as weekend skiing and spa packages in Croatia and Slovenia, are also highly sought after. They state that bookings and sales have been made at the last minute, which they explain by the desire of Croatian citizens to save more due to the crisis, while still not giving up on traveling.

Prices, they note from UHPA, are adjusted to the current situation, so packages often include a range of additional services that make the price more favorable. Among the member agencies that are recording the highest bookings for Valentine’s Day, both for domestic and foreign destinations, UHPA highlights Dubrovnik’s Guliver, Zagreb’s Kompas, and Generalturist, which they state has sold all its Valentine’s Day packages. Almost all programs for Valentine’s Day and carnival events on the Adriatic have also been sold by the tour operator Atlas Airtours, as reported by its parent group adriatica.net. Their most popular carnival programs included accommodation in Opatija, Malinska, and Lovran, while for Valentine’s Day, Opatija is also the most chosen destination, with what they describe as an imaginative wellness offer.
