The Council for Electronic Media discussed the offers received in response to the Call for Expression of Interest for experimental broadcasting of specialized television program channels in the terrestrial network at its meeting on February 11, 2010.
The call was published in the Official Gazette, number 157/09, on December 30, 2009, and six offers were received in response: Autor d.o.o. – CMC Music Television program, Nova TV d.o.o. – Doma TV program, RTL Hrvatska d.o.o. – RTL2 series program, RTL Hrvatska d.o.o. – RTL2 entertainment program, Independent Television NET d.o.o. – Retronet program, and Kapital Net d.o.o. – Kapital Network program.
The Council decided by majority vote that the offers from the companies Autor d.o.o. and Independent Television NET d.o.o. were rejected due to incomplete documentation, and that the license for experimental broadcasting of a specialized television program channel in the terrestrial network is granted to Kapital Net d.o.o. for the Kapital Network program (an informative program about the economy and entrepreneurship in the Republic of Croatia and the region). The company Kapital Net d.o.o. must be capable of producing an SD quality signal no later than February 28, 2010, and deliver it to the location of the network operator (OiV d.o.o.). The experimental broadcasting will last a minimum of six months, and at most until December 31, 2010, of which the Agency for Electronic Media will timely inform the publisher, writes hrt.hr.
